Coronavirus Information & Advice
With the coronavirus situation continuing to improve in most European countries, all our resorts across France, Spain, Italy, Portugal and Croatia will be open before the end of June. We’re expecting all facilities, including pools, restaurants and kids clubs to be available, operating under enhanced safety procedures of course. Whether the travel restrictions and the new UK quarantine rules relax in time for any customers to visit these great resorts this summer remains uncertain.
We have now been in contact with all our summer 2020 customers and have made arrangements to ensure the best options for each of them. Most customers have now taken advantage of the opportunity to re-arrange their holidays to 2021, which we expect to run far more smoothly than this summer! We’d really like to thank our customers for their amazingly positive approach throughout this difficult situation, and we’re really pleased so many have been happy with the options and service we’ve provided.
We’re now in a position to launch 2021 bookings for new customers. We’re expecting strong early demand, as so many people have missed out on their holidays this year!
Although we expect conditions to keep improving, we still advise you take the following steps to safeguard your holiday in 2021 or later in 2020:
- Check you have valid comprehensive travel insurance in place from the date of your booking, in case of cancellation. If your policy does not include cover for cancellation costs if the FCO issues advice against all but essential travel to your holiday destination for your holiday dates, ask your insurer to upgrade it or consider a different policy.
- Monitor the situation for any travel you’ve booked separately to your booking with Firefly, e.g. flights or independent ferries. Keep up to date with any announcements by airlines, airports, etc.
- Keep up to date with the latest official travel advice and FCO notifications. The UK government’s Coronavirus Travel Advice page pulls much of this together.
Firefly Holidays during the Coronavirus period: To ensure everyone’s safety, our team are all now working from their homes between 9am and 6pm daily. We have remained available every day by phone, email and chat, continuing to provide the same high standards of service to all our customers. Feel free to get in touch about anything at all but please bear with us if it takes a little longer for us to respond, or for any interruptions from children or animals in the background!
